The Story of the Bahamas Baby

My first Christmas came early this year.

My parents surprised my kids with a 3 night Disney Cruise. When they got home from school on Wed. Dec 9, they opened a few presents: nice clothes, snorkel sets, Sailor Mickey, and a kid's video camera. They were a little confused when they opened their gifts and so we asked them what we could do with all those things. They guessed Disney Cruise and so we told them to pack their things and lets go on one! They didn't believe we were going until I showed them their tickets. We left a half hour later and headed to Orlando to stay the night.
I saw the beach for the first time near the famous Atlantis hotel in Nassau, Bahamas. I didn't like my feet in that cold water on that rainy day, but I did enjoy watching my kids play in the water.
Scott became quite the snorkeler during our visit to Castaway Cay, Disney's private island in the Bahamas.

One of the best parts of my trip were that my grandparents and cousins came!!!

I love cruising!!! I can't wait to go again!

A Sunday Picnic in the Cohutta

Sunday, October 25, 2009

I confess... We are leaf peepers. I look forward to each year at this time when the leaves start to change in color. I think red is my favorite... We even flew up to Vermont one year just to see the leaves. Today, Jeff decided that he was going to take us to his favorite place in Georgia, the Cohutta Wilderness, to see the leaves and to have a picnic.

The weather was perfect!!! We found this spot that had a beautiful waterfall to have our picnic.

Luckily, the kids know the drill that they are going to have to have their picture taken and that they need to just to cooperate for five minutes and the torture will be over quick :)! We had such a great day as a family!!

Scott's teacher took pictures of all her students with the school mascot to hang out in the hallway by their schoolwork.
I love this kid's sense of humor!

Team Jaq Attack

Last Saturday marked our third year participating in the Atlanta JDRF Walk.

We come proud to be apart of Team Jaq Attack.

Jaqueline is our brave leader who courageously lives each day with Type 1 Diabetes.

Our kids love this experience and look forward to it each year. They love their cousin and want to show support to her.

(We also love the cool new t-shirts she designs too!)

Washington DC

Monday, October 5, 2009

Every year I look forward to Jeff's work convention. This year it was held in Washington DC. Thanks to the Udall family, Kathryn and I were able to go with Jeff. We stayed at the Gaylord Hotel on National Harbor. It was so nice!!!

On Friday we took a boat down the Potomac River to Alexandria, VA. It was such a cute little town. We had a great lunch at La Madeleine before heading back.

On Saturday we walked around the National Harbor area and enjoyed the beautiful day. (Kathryn is an awesome traveler)

Looks like Rain for Fall Break

Monday, September 21, 2009

Today is the first day of Fall Break.....

We might just need to build a boat :)
Our neighbors lost part of their fence.

Looks like we'll be indoors for the week. The kids have already built a fort in the family room. I'm looking forward to see what other creative ideas they come up with.....
