Mesa Verde National Park

I had never heard of this National Park in Colorado (near the 4 corners) until I read about it in a travel book. Because I was formally a Social Studies teacher, I was excited to take my children to experience this historical place.
Ok, so the drive into the park was a little too exciting for me with the steep ledges, but it was beautiful and of course the kids kept complaining about how we were wasting our Utah time for stopping here.
Once we parked, we began our hike to the Spruce House.
When the children first caught glimpse of this

their curiousity took over the whining :)

They jumped right in to fully embrace this experience.

They were excited to explore the cliff dwellings of the early Pueblo Indians.

They were able to explore much of the Spruce House. They loved it!

We learned there are other "houses" to explore in the park.

I think that we all agreed that we'd like to go back some day to see more!

  1. I went there a few years ago with Greg and Angie (when Austin and Logan were little) and my mom and dad. It's such a cool place.
