Oh Turtle Bay Resort, I love you! And these two girls do too. They are asking to come back for a visit soon.
The resort's pool had a beautiful view of the North Shore. On this left side, the waves were amazing and so there were many surfers out enjoying them. We even saw a surfer dog riding the waves with its owners!
These little girls were so happy to see the sun and wear summer clothes instead of being in Utah in 2 feet of snow!
Kathryn loved swimming in the kiddie pool. It was just her size and she would have been happy to have stayed in there all day!
We tried to find some seashells on our last day and we were only able to find a few, but it was so fun to walk along the beach one last time. Kathryn usually hates to walk in the sand, but by the end of the trip, she had learned to love the sand.
It was only a short walk to the pools and beaches from our condo.
We loved having Snuka's boys with us. They stayed with us a lot so their Mom could get some rest and visit the baby.
The resort was pretty close to Laie and so we were able to visit the temple grounds.
We were able to score some tickets to the Polynesian Culture Center for the dinner and show. The food was alright, it was just like a regular buffet. The show was amazing! We loved it!
On our last day, we headed back to Honolulu. We went and visited the baby at the hospital and then we were able to make a quick stop at the Pearl Harbor Memorial before heading to the airport.
We had a red eye flight back to San Diego. Fortunately, it had a stop over in Salt Lake City and so we were able to hop off there to head home.
Jeff had left our car at the airport the night before when he had flown to NYC. When I went to get the into the car and had to walk through snow, I almost cried being back in the frigid cold and missed the 80 degrees terribly. Although we didn't get a nice tan, it was great experience to see an old friend and the sun!
