Once we had finally put together the pieces to the Visa application puzzle, we went back to purchase our flights from Salt Lake City to Paris and found the price had increased. Iceland Air seemed to have the most reasonable airfare prices and so we looked around to see what other cities they had with outgoing flights to Europe. Orlando- Sanford came up and it was cheaper to fly from there than from SLC. Once we added everything up, it wasn't much different in price to have a fun adventure in Orlando before heading to France as if we just left from SLC. It worked out perfect because the weekend we went was the same weekend as our nephew Daniel's mission farewell.
This helped to bring down Jeff's parents and sister Lisa to Florida the same weekend we were there. It was so great to see them all and have a mini- Cannegieter Family reunion because we sure miss spending Sunday afternoons at Grandpa and Grandma's house in Georgia with them and many aunts, uncles, and cousins! It definitely was meant to be. We flew there on January 11 and it was a crazy, bumpy flight. A little more than my anxiety could handle! After a quick stopover in Denver (which I lost my coat :() we landed in Orlando and then rented a car to drive to Jacksonville. We arrived late at night and Jeff's brother's house and his family graciously hosted us for the next four nights during our stay in Florida. On Sunday after church we all spent time at Jeff's sister's house and Kiley and Scott even took the Polar Bear Plunge challenge in her pool! Later in the afternoon, we went to the beach.
The kids enjoyed that! Monday we ventured around and about in St. Augustine and on Tuesday I took Scott to the Minute Clinic at CVS because he wasn't feeling well and they found he had Strep Throat. Luckily, we were able to get him started on some antibiotics before we left. It was so nice to spend time with Jeff's family in Florida!
Jacksonville! St. Augustine! *sniff*
