After our brief stop in the beautiful Honfleur, we drove to Giverny to visit Monet's house and gardens. It is located just outside of Paris.
We had heard that the lines to enter here can be really long and so we weren't sure if we were going to have the time to visit, but we arrived at the perfect time! We were able to walk right in and it wasn't crowded at all!
We couldn't take any pictures inside the house. It wasn't extravagant or fancy at all. It was just a typical two level home. It was full of many of his paintings. I really liked his Japanese inspired paintings. They were beautiful!
The gardens were amazing! Since I am one of few words, I'll let the pictures do the talking!
The famous bridge and lily pads. His paintings from here are some of my favorites in Paris.
After we left Giverny, we headed to Versailles. Unfortunately, so did everybody else. We couldn't find any parking and it was packed and so we headed straight to Paris.
Paris was the same. The traffic was really bad and it was super crowded too.
Jeff dropped my Mom and I off at Sacre Couer and so I could at least take her there and to Montemarte and then he picked us up again after driving around the block many times.
We were sad that we weren't able to see as much as we would have liked in Paris and missed out on seeing the Palace of Versailles. Luckily, we enjoyed our time at Honfleur and Giverny that it made the road trip worth it.
I want to go there so bad. Someday I will take my Madeline Monet there. :)
