Sunday Train to Rennes

As I was looking at our pictures from our stay in the Brittany region, I noticed that I didn't have many pictures of Rennes. We actually spent a lot of time there for church and also because we had to go to some Visa appointments there because it is the capital city of Bretagne. One Sunday we had church in the afternoon and so we were able to take the train there from Dinan. Usually, there aren't many options to ride the train on weekend mornings, and so we were excited because it is a beautiful train ride to Rennes.
I loved Dinan's small train station. It had the coolest map on the wall of the train routes in Brittany.
It was a little over a half a mile walk to the train station from our house.
We were the only ones leaving from Dinan today. It's a miracle we were actually on time!

Our train first went to DOL and then we jumped on a larger train that took us to Rennes.
After arriving in Rennes, we walked to the bus stop that would take us to Cesson-Sevigne, where the church building was. We became pretty familiar with the bus system in Rennes.

This main area in Rennes always reminded me a little bit of Paris with river, bridges, and buildings.
Rennes has many universities. There are many students who come from all over the world here for school. We saw and heard many different nationalities here.

We always wanted to see more things in Rennes, but we were usually there on Sunday, but almost everything was closed on that day.
For awhile, it seemed every time we went to Rennes, it was raining and so we renamed it from Rennes to Rains, France. Today we were lucky because it was a beautiful day!

Bus #6 is our bus! The stop is right in front of the church. From here it is only a 10-15 minute ride. When we usually go to Rennes, we'd take the bus there from Dinan. That bus would drop us off at the Republic station which is a few blocks down from this picture and then we would take bus #6 to church. Some days it wasn't fun to have to rely on public transportation, but I was glad that we had this experience.
