Postcards From Tuscany - Pisa

On our way to our apartment in Cetona, we made a quick stop in Pisa to view the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.

As soon as we were parked and getting out of the van, the rain started to fall from the sky.

We finally have learned to be prepared with umbrellas at all times in Europe. After walking a few blocks, we eventually arrived at this famous landmark:

What's a trip to Pisa with doing the famous pose with the tower?

These photos almost look like we just photo shopped the girls in the picture in front of the tower.

I had shown Kathryn some pictures before we had visited and talked with her about how everyone takes a picture like this there. She was a little excited about having her own picture holding up the tower when we arrived in Pisa.

Piazza dei Miracoli

The Cathedral

We didn't go inside the Cathedral or the Baptistery while visiting the piazza because it looked like you had to pay to get in and we were in a little bit of a time crunch trying to get to Cetona.

We still had fun walking around in the rain.

If we have the chance to visit Pisa again, I hope that we can be there on a sunny day and be able to spend some more time in the Piazza dei Miracoli and also explore more of Pisa. We saw some bridges and other piazzas that looked like they would be fun to visit.

Andrew looks to be enjoying the walk back to the car. As he always says, " We're Living the Dream!" (sometimes he is a little sarcastic when he says it :)

The End.
