Postcards From Tuscany- Cetona, Italy

When we started to make plans last weekend, we decided that we wanted to go somewhere fun because we didn't have to return our van rental until Sunday. The kids seemed excited about visiting the Leaning Tower of Pisa and so we decided to spend the weekend in Tuscany and go to Pisa and Florence. I started searching the internet for a place to stay and since it seems to the Europeans that we have an extra large family, it is difficult to find a hotel that will fit us all. I checked into VRBO and Homeaway and found an apartment in Cetona, Italy and the owner was nice and willing to work with us.

After making a quick stop in Pisa, we drove a little over 2 hours more and finally made it to Cetona. The apartment owner sent me directions to his place and they seemed to have come straight from Google Translate because they were a little difficult to follow.

We knew we had to drive around the piazza and then it was a little confusing once we arrived at this tower.

We couldn't tell if we were supposed to turn left at the tower down this street or not. We made the mistake of making that turn!

Remember the size of our van?

It wasn't going so well on that road and so once we could, we turned around and headed back.

When things got a little tight on that road, it unfortunately scratched up the side mirror a bit which was pulled in close to the car while we were driving on this road.

We made it back and took the other turn. It was the right turn!

We made it! We were so excited to be there. Our adventure down the little road was a little but much for mine and Jeff's anxiety levels. Now we just had to worry about what the rental car company was going to charge us.

We all loved this apartment! We're having a hard time getting used to our Menton apartment and so the kids were all begging to stay here instead of going back to France!

This apartment definitely wins for the award for the coolest bathroom.

We were so spoiled here because our Menton apartment's bathroom is the size of a cruise cabin bathroom.

We stayed two nights before heading home. This apartment was so nice!!!
