The French Riviera - Sunday in Nice

Last month after touring a few weekends in Italy, we found a ward in Nice and made the plans to attend there on Sunday. When we finally arrived there, we found that it was closed for construction.
Just a few blocks away we noticed a May festival was being held at a park and so we headed there to check it out.
When we first walked into the park on the right were some fun ruins that our kiddos had fun climbing around.
We followed the music and found this dance group performing some traditional Provencal dances.
While everybody else hid in the shade, Kathryn and I enjoyed the performance.

After the show was over we walked around and found the Musee Matisse. We learned that it was open and was free to visit.

The kiddos weren't very impressed with his work on display. They felt it was the type of work they did in elementary school. It still was fun to see.

Next door to the Musee Matisse was the Musee et Site Archeologiques. It too was open with free admission.

This museum was a little more laid back! It had a great area for kids to explore different things!

Kathryn loved this little sand box!

After looking at everything inside, we headed outside to visit the ruins.
It was really neat to walk around. Unfortunately, some of the areas were closed down and so we couldn't walk around inside some of the ruins.

Well, church didn't work out, but we stumbled upon some great places to see!
