Georgia On My Mind

My cousin Cheryl asked me to answer this question on my blog: "What is your favorite thing about living in Georgia?" I couldn't think of just one thing.... I have lived here for almost 14 years and so I have many things about Georgia on my mind!
First of all, I have come to the conclusion that I am a city girl. I know that I was raised by my dad that loves the farm, but I love the excitement of a city and opportunities to attend different events and shows! We live about 35 miles outside of Atlanta and I love it! Jeff and I have decided once that we are empty nesters, we are selling the house and living in a large city somewhere. Hopefully somewhere internationally. I love the diversity of Atlanta. I love that your ward becomes your family!
It is hard to be away from family, but we do our best to remain close to them! Luckily some of them will come visit us regularly. We try to get to Utah a couple times a year. I am so grateful for modern technology so I can still be close to my family living so far away!

I love, love the green! It is so beautiful most of the year! There are trees everywhere!

I also love the humidity! I think I may be the only person who does, but I love the smell and feel of the moisture in the air!

I love that we live close to Jeff's family. His parents and family are so great! They are very supportive to us. They also love to travel and so we have a lot of fun sharing and planning trips together.

I used to love the snow growing up, but now I'm fine with only having like two months of winter. We maybe get two snow days a year. Its great because the whole city shuts down and everybody goes out to the store and buys milk and bread when it snows. I guess everybody likes toast with their snow :)

I like the housing market and home styles of Atlanta. I like that you can get a lot of house for the money.

Best of all, if you are visiting with your extended family over a Easter brunch and you are all feeling like going to the beach that day for part of Spring Break, you can! The beautiful beaches of Florida are only 6-7 hours away!
Cheryl: What are your favorite things about Wisconsin? What about Chicago? If you could live anywhere, where would that be?

  1. YAy! Thanks for answering. I love that you love Georgia since I used to tell you how much I loved it as a kid.
I however have come to hate humidity here in Wisconsin- it's pretty bad here.
I have realized I am a city girl now too. Funny how that happens.
