Exploring Brittany: Vannes

One Sunday after church, we headed on a little detour to Vannes before heading home. It was about a two hour drive west of Rennes. Since we are paying for the rental car, we feel we need to get our money's worth and make sure it is used! Of course we didn't have much planned or did any research for this little road trip. I think sometimes we find jewels like this because of spontaneity.

We followed the signs to the old town centre and found parking near the port.

Not soon after we had started walking around, we ran into the sister missionaries. They had noticed Scott's Studio C sweatshirt and knew we had to be LDS and from the USA because its a show on BYU Tv. We loved talking with them! They were both very sweet. While we were talking, Kathryn ran around taking pictures of everything and she actually took this picture:

She also took this picture of her dad :)

Here's the entrance into the old town area of Vannes:

After walking a few blocks and making a few right turns, we stumbled upon this beautiful area with amazing gardens!

Kathryn was beyond ecstatic to find this little playground in the garden area.

Even though they don't care too much for being in the car too long anymore, they sure enjoy exploring new places!

We really enjoyed our short excursion to Vannes. It is a very beautiful city that has so much charm like our beloved Dinan.

Of course we stopped at the Boulangerie before leaving to get some yummy baguettes for the road!
